Apple pie

Apple pie

One of the special treats for my family is this Apple pie. Little hint of bourbone gives it a special twist. Do not tell anyone, but it goes fantastic with the icecream(but thats just between you and me).

You will need:

For the dough

350 g plain flour

55 g brown sugar

225 g butter room temperature

1 egg

1 yolk

For the filling

2 kg apples

120g of brown sugar

juice from half of the lemon

1/4 teaspoon ofnutmeg

1 teaspoon of cinamon

6 spoons of water

burboune depends on your taste

1 spoon of butter

Mix the butter with sugar, than add egg and yolk, mix properly and than add the flour. Knead it properly, until you get a nice and smooth dough. Put it in the fridge to set for like 1/2 an hour.

While you wait for your dough, peel the apples and cut them into small pieces. pour the lemon juice over them, add the sugar, nutmeg, cinamon, water and brandy. Stir well and leave it to cook for about 5 minutes. Put aside to cool down.

Take out the dough and wallow a nice thin layer. Transfer it then nicely into a baking tray and cut the overflowing corners. Than add the apples and spread them nicely over the dough. Use the leftover dough to cover the pie. Before you put it in the oven, you can slightly coat the top dough with a milk. Bake in pre heated oven on 210 degreese for 20/25 minutes.
